1880 The History Of England, New Edition In Two Volumes, by Lord Macaulay Interiors'The History Of England, From The Accession Of James The Second' by Lord Macaulay, published by Longmans, Green, Reader & Dyer in 1880. Octavo. The boards are beautifully bound in tan leather with gilt borders. The boards show some rubbing to the extremities in areas but are firmly attached and are in a very good condition overall. The spines boast further gilt stamped decoration, five raised bands, black leather title panels and maroon leather volume

The set comprises of the following measurements:

Bookplate of 'Armytage' to the front pastedown of each volume and an ownership stamp of 'Rev

The hallmark is consistent with that in use c

Groves and Barker - Mariners' Compass and Sundial Makers with his friend and former co-apprentice Richard Groves and they traded from 16 Market Street

The book is three-quarter bound in tan leather with the spine boasting raised bands

There are some minor light dinks to the base in places (please see photographs) but generally the lamp is in an exceptionally clean and tidy condition
