Hamilton Russell - Pinot Noir 2023 (750ml) Côtes de ThongueOur low vigour, stony, clay rich soil, cool maritime mesoclimate, naturally tiny yields of well under 35 hl ha and our philosophy of expressing our terroir in our wines give rise to a certain tightness, tannin line and elevated length to balance the richness and generosity of our Pinot noir. Our Pinot noir is not overtly fruity, soft and "sweet" and it generally shows hints of that alluring savoury "primal" character along with a dark, spicy, complex

flawlessly balanced 2020 with a pure core of cassis and darker currant fruits

with enticing raspberry and cassis notes lined with subtle violet and anise hints

white fruits (peaches)

Aged 3 months in bottle before release

Oak plays a well-integrated and focused supporting role

the whole is very soft and refined

born during a tasting of wines from the ’60s and 70’s decade

offering leather

raisin and plum flavors balanced by big round tannins and crisp acidity

where the plant must struggle to find its nourishment underground

giving the structure

The wine is aged for about 3 months in well used 60 gallon (mostly French oak) barrels
