PJ-56 Lounge Chair, 1956 Desks & TablesA beautiful lounge chair designed by Grete Jalk for cabinetmaker Poul Jeppesen in Denmark in 1956. This example comes in stunning rosewood with new feather filled cushions reupholstered in aniline cognac brown leather. The Model 56 lounge chair debuted at the Fredericia Furniture Fair in 1957 and became a great success for Jeppesen's company over the following years. Danish designer Grete Jalk's career began to gain serious momentum in the late 1950s.

This pair is made from highly figured rosewood

minimalist approach to upholstered furniture that was synonymous with Danish design in the early 1940s

Model AT-305 oak desk from Danish icon Hans Wegner produced by master-cabinetmaker Andreas Tuck who was responsible for making most of Wegner’s best desk and table designs

The frame is solid pine with a sprung seat and has been fully reupholstered in new sheepskin at our workshops in Europe

Madsen also worked closely with Wegner's great friend Borge Mogensen on several important pieces
