Port Ellen 1978 (37yr old) 16th Release (2016 Special Release) ABV: 55.2%NOSE: Soft smoke driven expression, slightly sooty with a hint of brown paper bag. Just a touch of classic chamois leather with subtle bilberry and mandarin sauce notes adding complexity. PALATE: More ash now with scorched earth, more of those bilberries and a touch of liquorice. A little vanilla touches at the finish to come. FINISH: Lots of brown sugar and toasty oak, just like the crispy caramelised top of a crme brle. Bottle Size: 70cls ABV: 55. 2%
